Out of the Mouths of Babes
Half-inch square images of notable women come together in this celebration of women’s wit and wisdom. From a distance, the viewer sees a set of purple or red ready-to-kiss lips. Up close, women’s faces emerge…from Abigail Adams to Annie Oakley, from Hillary Clinton to Judge Judy. The real tale, however, is told on the back of the quilt; it features a key to the photos and a quote from each of the “Babes” seen on the front.
Materials: cotton fabric; polyester batting; monofilament, cotton, and polyester thread.
Techniques: Images printed on fabric; machine pieced and quilted.
